Ramadhan Mubarak. My du'aa for you is a blessed and successful month.
Great news! This blessed month, Murshidah and I are launching our Refugees mentorship & support program- beginner's level.
Why are we doing this program?
As of late 2025, there are over 211,000 refugees and asylum-seekers registered with the UNHCR in Malaysia. Refugees faced many challenges, such as not being allowed to work legally, their children not being able to go to public school, and not having medical support. Refugees in Malaysia are in transit before they are placed in another country. However, most of the Refugees we support have spent an average of about 8 years in transit.
We have been supporting Refugees since 2013 with financial support for food aid, rent, medical bills, children's education, and more. However, this is not a long-term solution. That is one of the reasons we started our mentorship program to help them grow their income online or as freelancers, without breaking any laws.
One of the refugees we supported, Ramia, was able to support 2 of her children through private school, and now they are in University. Over the years, we have mentored more than 5 Refugees to achieve a decent monthly income, enabling them to cover all their basic needs; some of them even upgraded their living and businesses. We want to mentor more Refugees to succeed.
What is the Refugees Mentorship & Support Program?
This program consists of different areas that help them to overcome their challenges and achieve success.
1. Income growth
We mentor them to grow their income with whatever skill they have, for example, cooking, tailoring, handicraft, arts, etc., doing freelance business online. We will have 2 online coaching sessions per month via Zoom.
2. Healing
Many Refugees have trauma because of the war that they experienced in their country. We mentored Hasan, a Syrian Refugee, to overcome his trauma and support him in achieving his dream of becoming a speaker and teacher. He then went on to become a TEDx speaker, an educator in non-profit schools for Refugees, and he even started his own community to help Refugees facing medical and financial challenges.
For our upcoming mentorship program, we will include horse therapy and archery because it really helps accelerate healing and personal growth.
They will have at least one horse riding therapy session and one archery session per month.
3. Personal growth
Personal growth is scientifically proven to accelerate success in life, career and business. Many Refugees cannot afford to invest in personal growth and education.
We include personal growth in our programs to help Refugees accelerate their development and success, both online and offline.
4. Social impact
We found that people involved in social impact are more likely to succeed faster, similarly to refugees. Refugee leaders who have social impact programs for their communities succeed much faster and have many growth opportunities.
In our mentorship, we will help Refugees create their own social impact or be involved in our existing social impact to learn and gain knowledge.
5. Support
Some other things that we are including in this program are :
a) Iftar basket
b) Iftar dinner for Refugee leaders at Yafa Palestinian restaurant in TTDI, where they will have the opportunity to meet with potential donors and mentors
c) Horse riding therapy for autistic and special needs children from refugee communities
Our 90-day mentorship and support programs for Refugees are RM 1959 per Refugee.
We are looking for generous people to sponsor Refugees or contribute any sincere amount. When the amount reaches Rm 1959, we will sponsor one Refugee for the program. If you would like to sponsor or contribute any amount, please let us know.
Thank you.
